Joe Doucet is an American designer and founder of Joe Doucet Studio, with offices in New York and London. A graduate of ArtCenter College of Design, he works across product design, graphics, furniture, environment, and technology. Doucet’s work focuses on integrating function with communication, often embedding conceptual ideas within practical objects. His projects have been exhibited at institutions including the Design Museum in London and the Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Étienne. He has received numerous awards, including a World Technology Award for Design and multiple Good Design Awards, and was nominated for a Cooper Hewitt National Design Award. He was named the first ever AvantGuardian for Design in 2009 by Surface Magazine. Doucet holds more than fifty patents, reflecting his engagement with both innovation and production. His practice emphasizes design as a means of conveying ideas while addressing real-world use.
