Jeannie Choe and Steven Tomlinson are designers based in New York City and graduates of Pratt Institute. Together, they founded Design Can, a design practice focused on creating objects that balance functionality with a sense of play. Their work explores how design can evoke joy, humor, and curiosity through form, material, and interaction. Emphasizing a lighter approach to everyday objects, their projects aim to engage users beyond utility, encouraging moments of surprise and delight. Working across product and object design, Choe and Tomlinson develop pieces that reflect both thoughtful construction and an interest in emotional response. Their collaborative practice highlights the role of design in shaping experience, positioning everyday items as opportunities for connection and discovery.
