Qubus is a Czech design studio founded by designer and architect Jakub Berdych Karpelis in Prague. Established in 2002, the studio operates at the intersection of product design, glassmaking, and conceptual art. Qubus is known for its work in glass, often reinterpreting traditional Czech glassmaking techniques through a contemporary and conceptual lens. The studio’s objects frequently combine humor, craftsmanship, and cultural commentary, resulting in works that blur the boundaries between functional design and collectible art. In addition to its product line, Qubus has operated a gallery space in Prague, presenting both its own work and that of other designers and artists. The studio’s projects have been exhibited internationally and are associated with a broader movement of experimental Czech design.
