James Paulius
James Paulius is an industrial designer based in New York City. He studied industrial design at the Rochester Institute of Technology and has developed a practice focused on play, architecture, and modular systems. Paulius is best known for his building block–based designs, which draw from principles of urban planning, landscape design, and structural logic. His projects encourage open-ended interaction, allowing users to construct and reconfigure forms while engaging with ideas of balance, geometry, and spatial relationships. His work has been produced and distributed internationally and is often positioned at the intersection of education and design. Through his practice, Paulius explores how objects can foster creativity and participation, emphasizing design as a tool for learning and engagement.
