Parsons & Charlesworth

Parsons & Charlesworth is a Chicago-based design studio founded by Tim Parsons and Jessica Charlesworth. Both designers are graduates of the Royal College of Art in London, where Parsons studied Design Products and Charlesworth studied Design Interactions. Established in 2014, the studio explores the conceptual and practical dimensions of object-making through furniture, installations, exhibitions, and speculative design projects. Their work often examines the cultural and rhetorical roles of objects, balancing function with narrative and critical inquiry. In addition to their studio practice, Parsons and Charlesworth are educators in the Department of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Designed Objects at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Their projects have been exhibited internationally, including presentations such as Spectacular Vernacular at the Chicago Cultural Center.
