Nikolas Bentel is an American artist and designer based in New York. He studied in the Brown-RISD dual degree program, combining approaches from both art and design. Bentel’s work spans product design, installation, and performance, often reinterpreting everyday objects in unexpected ways. His projects explore the relationship between objects, systems, and user behavior, frequently incorporating humor and conceptual framing. He has presented work at venues and events including Milan Design Week, Paris Fashion Week, and the United Nations Climate Summit. Bentel has also collaborated with a range of commercial and cultural partners, creating projects that blur the boundaries between design, art, and storytelling. He is affiliated with NEW INC, the New Museum’s incubator for art, design, and technology, where he continues to develop experimental, cross-disciplinary work.
