Floris Hovers is a Dutch designer based in Raamsdonksveer, Netherlands. He graduated from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2004 and established his studio in 2006. Hovers’ work spans furniture, toys, and small-scale objects, often characterized by simplified forms, bold color compositions, and a playful yet structured aesthetic. His designs frequently draw on industrial processes and construction logic, resulting in objects that balance functionality with a distinct visual language. In addition to producing designs with manufacturers, Hovers develops autonomous work, including prototypes and limited-edition pieces. His projects have been exhibited internationally and recognized with awards such as the Sanoma Woonaward for Young Talent. Hovers also teaches and gives lectures, contributing to design education alongside his studio practice. His work reflects an ongoing interest in clarity of form and the relationship between object, process, and imagination.
