Brendan Ravenhill
Brendan Ravenhill is a Los Angeles–based designer whose work explores the relationship between utility, material, and form. He studied sculpture, wooden boat building, and industrial design before establishing his studio in Los Angeles in 2010. Ravenhill’s early experiences, including growing up between Côte d’Ivoire and coastal Maine, informed his interest in the functional qualities of tools and objects. This perspective continues to shape his approach to design, which emphasizes clarity, durability, and use. His work often draws on traditional construction methods and industrial processes, resulting in lighting and furniture that balance precision with material presence. Since founding his studio, Ravenhill has developed a body of work focused on thoughtful production and collaboration with local fabricators. His designs are widely exhibited and produced, reflecting an ongoing engagement with both craft and industry in contemporary design.
